Everyday at school your child is directed to write homework assignments in his/her planner!  Then, students are expected to bring the planner home, along with other necessary papers and books, and return it the following day.

Homework Expectations:
  • Read for at least 30 minutes a day, either in class or at home.
  • Write for at least 10 minutes a night about the topics/books that they are reading in their writing journal.  We encourage student to learn cursive, as it is faster than manuscript writing.
  • Focus should be on math facts: addition, subtraction, and multiplication until they master them, as well as, completion of Math homework sheets.  (Please see the Educational Links under the "More" tab on this website to find math support!)
  • We will have weekly spelling and vocabulary!
  • Students will be periodically assigned homework activity pages to do in science,.
  • As well, students will be given one or two social studies projects per semester.

By doing homework, students are able to see what they have retained from classroom lessons, and are also able to extend work time to complete special, creative projects!   Homework is a very important part of the learning process!
